SOMETHING ELSE FOR YOU

Over recent months David has been involving the Fellowship with other church groups to gain from their experiences.  The initiative was prompted by the Faith Communities Regeneration Project led by Kay Aldersley; Kay came and spoke at one of our recent Sunday services.  On Saturday 24th March the next gathering of FACE is at the Hilltop Centre between 9.45 am and 12.15 pm.  The programme includes a talk by Rosie Dalman (Development Officer of Keresley Village Community Church) and a short presentation by Alison Hedges (Nuneaton & Bedworth CVS) on research being undertaken with migrant workers.  To add to the occasion a demonstration of how to make 'smoothes' is included - obviously we will be expecting to sample the results.  This is open to anyone, particularly if experience in gaining funding is of interest to you.

FELLOWSHIP NEWS

The FROG TEAM is coming!!!  Expect the Frog Team to hop into Polesworth and Dordon sometime in March.  The Frog Team is for 7 to 11 year olds.

The Frog Team is something new at the Hilltop Centre and its being organised by Bethanie, Sara and Kelly who are experts on what 7 to 11 year olds want.  There will be singing (loads of action songs, some reggae style), reading (that's in the book corner), a chill out area (for when you've done everything else), prayer time (only about things important to 7 - 11 year olds), a tuck shop and lots, lots more!  Find out more from Bethanie, Sara and Kelly at Brigade or school.

David is really disappointed!!  His Speed Dating event last month, that he had so looked forward to, was snowed off!  So there's nothing to report on his efforts to find someone who wanted to spend their evenings..........helping at Brigade nights!  Anyway, no chance of the rearranged event being snowed off - it's in June.

Everyone receives the Challenge Newspaper, many of you also receive the glossy Inspire Magazine - which one do you prefer?  Do you enjoy both?  If you don't currently receive Inspire would you like to?  We are interested in hearing from you.

Congratulations to Heather and Katie who recently successfully attended the first stage of Girls' Brigade Young Leader training.

Mrs Harris commented how hard the girls worked and also how much they enjoyed themselves (particularly with the Reggae Sunday School music).

Our ad in 'The Local' last month brought Arron and Dawson to Anchor Boys and last week they thoroughly enjoyed playing with the parachute.  Anchor Boys is fun!  Any 5 to 8 year olds are welcome at Anchor Boys on Wednesday evenings between 6 and 7. 15 pm.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Massive Girls' Brigade Praise Party and Activity Day is being planned for Saturday 21st April in Polesworth.  Keep this date free!

The 'How to share your faith' course mentioned in last month's letter is now arranged for Sunday 13 May.  More details to follow.

AND FINALLY......

I'm really excited about the Frog Team, it's great that the girls are so enthusiastic about their project.   They worked hard together to shape the original idea and showed lots of  courage when they presented the concept to the recent Fellowship business meeting.  They deserve this to be very successful, my thoughts and prayers are with them.

The Polesworth Pioneers don't seem to have had a mention this month.  Well, they continue to work hard with the new recruits and they will be playing for the pit head service on Saturday 3 March.

Its good that this month we have the opportunity to share with the other churches in Polesworth and Dordon.   The Women's World Day of Prayer theme 'United under God's tent' is most appropriate for we all serve the same creator God.

Do find time to share in the March events with us.

David

I want you woven into a tapestry of love,

in touch with everything there is to know of God.

Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused in Christ.
