Polesworth Carnival  The theme of this years Carnival on Saturday July 7th is "The 1940's" and we will be entering a walking float based on the film "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe".  All the children are invited to take part but they will need to be accompanied by an adult.  Children should be dressed as a character from the film and adults can join in as well if they wish. We will walk in the Carnival procession as a group collecting from the crowds.  We would welcome some help in preparing banners so the crowds know who we are and what we are entered as, please contact Christine Harris (893788) if you can help.  Everyone is to meet at 88 Pooley View (the home of David and Christine Harris) at 12 noon.

Anchor Boys                    As many of you know we have been looking to increase the numbers in Anchors for some time, we had some success following the advert in 'The Local' publication earlier in the year.  Well this last week we welcomed brothers Korey and Ross to Anchors and it was great to see them.  Hopefully we will see more 5 to 8 year olds joining over the coming weeks and months.

Brigade Sponsored Walk at Kingsbury Water Park        Last months sponsored walk was well supported and the youngsters have been very successful in collecting the sponsorship - so far Carol Bruton has received £240 with a couple of forms still to come back.  Congratulations to all who took part and a big thank you to all who gave.  The money is being donated to this years Fellowship Charity 'The Smile Train' which works to provide funds and training for surgery to repair children's cleft lips and palates in countries where such facilities are not readily available.  It costs just £150 to operate on a child so it would be really good if the amount raised could reach £300 to meet the costs of helping two children.  If you would like more information about the work of 'The Smile Train' contact David (893788) and borrow their publicity DVD.

THE FROG TEAM

The next Frog Team event is on Saturday 14 July and it's a visit to 'X:site Birmingham'.  'X:site' is for 7 to 11 year olds. It's a two hour praise party attracting around 175 youngsters arranged by Scripture Union working with Big Ministries.  In May five of the Junior girls attended and had a great time.  Places need to be pre-booked by Friday 13th and a registration form completed (available from Christine Harris 893788), the cost is £1.50.  The event is from 6 to 8 pm, we will be leaving from the Hilltop Centre at 5 pm.

Big thanks from David to Bethanie, Sara and Kelly.  He sends thanks for their support when he recently took the evening service at Polesworth Congregational Church, the girls went and demonstrated two action songs they had learnt.

The next meeting of the Hilltop Management Committee is on Wednesday 11th July at 7. 30 pm, please ensure any issues you have with the facilities are represented.
