9 Oct 2007 - Sponsored Walk for Smile Train
In June the Junior Section of the Girls' Brigade completed a sponsored walk at Kingsbury Water Park in aid of the Smile Train Charity (the Fellowship's chosen charity for 2007). The event was well supported and the youngsters were successful in raising £351.50. Congratulations to all who took part and a big thank you to all who gave.
'The Smile Train charity works to provide funds and training for surgery to repair children's cleft lips and palates in countries where such facilities are not readily available. It costs just £150 to operate on a child so the girls efforts have helped two children to have the surgery they so necessarily need.
