8 Nov 2005 - Support for Ashit

Latest photo of Ashit, with his Mother and Sister, July 2005.

See report below.
The following was the report given at the Fellowship's AGM in October 2005:

I would like to say a really big thank you to everyone who supports our World Vision sponsored child Ashit, not only for your financially support but also for your prayerful support. Our prayers for Ashit, his family and community are very important. Our sponsor money has gone towards supplying fresh water, educational needs (books, pencils and paper) and health needs (vaccinations and health education).

This last year our monthly sponsorship of £18.00 has been met every month with money to spare. Again this year we will be able to send an extra donation of £100 along with Ashit's Christmas card.

Please continue to support Ashit this coming year.

In August we received the annual report about Ashit from his local World Vision contact. Ashit was eight years old in August 2005 and is in Grade 3 at School, its reported that his health is good. At School he enjoys Mathematics, Science, English, Bangla & Social Studies, his hobby is reading. At home he is expected to help with the cleaning, collecting fire wood, fetching water and baby sitting. He enjoys playing hide and seek, Blind Man's Bluff and cricket.

Support for Ashit is collected each Sunday through a decorated box in Church. A major portion of the funds given comes from our own children who share their offering between the Fellowship and Ashit. The interest shown by the children helps them to understand the differing circumstances experienced by children as they grow up in other countries.
