12 Apr 2004 - New badge work scheme for BB Anchor Boys and Juniors!

BB HQ has announced new badge work programmes for the Anchor Boy and Junior Sections effective from September 2004.

Both programmes will be based on six areas of activity - Body, Mind, Spirit, Community, Creativity and Extra Topics.

The Anchor Boy structure will be at three levels, representing the three years lads can be in Anchor Boys, and badges will be presented for each level completed (these will be worn on an armband). BB HQ has stated that, "It is not intended that the Anchor Boy programme has a formal award time. Boys will gain their awards as they take part in the usual section programme for this age group, i.e. games, crafts, story telling, bible stories etc."

The Juniors structure will be at four levels as now, target, bronze, silver and gold. New badges will be introduced to support the new award scheme. BB HQ has stated that, "The new scheme offers flexibility in how it is run, it offers boys choices to do extra topics they particularly enjoy, and the option for Companies to concentrate on those things that reflect the skills of the Officers and leaders. Each topic will take 10/15 minutes."
