8 Nov 2005 - The Toybox Charity
So, how did our 2004/5 fund raising appeal do in the finish? We set a target to raise £1000 for the Toybox Charity.
We raised funds at all sorts of services and events finally reaching our target with an amount of £1021.68.
On Sunday 18 September 2005 we welcomed Toybox representative Lizzie Peto to our parade service and presented her with the cheque. Since then we have had a very encouraging letter from Toybox thanking us for the gift and explaining how their work in Guatemala is helping vulnerable children.
This brings to an end our Toybox project, we will now be initiating another project to support the work of one of the smaller charities working to relieve suffering around the world.
Supporting Toybox has been really good for the Fellowship with the children and adults readily associating themselves with the work. The fund raising has added interest and purpose to many of the Fellowship events over the past eighteen months.
