B.C.F. & T.C.C.
'COME ABOARD'
2007

Where do I start?
September, Polesworth. That's where for me it all started. But for others it was the culmination of eight months of planning and hard work.

The Boaters Christian Fellowship in partnership with Tamworth Covenanting Churches was to stop at seven places in and around the Tamworth area on the canals. I decided to go down to Polesworth on the first night where Polesworth Christian Fellowship were providing a barbeque for B.C.F.. Complete with two camcorders and lights I started videoing when approached by Hui-yen (one of the B.C.F. team), and asked to help in videoing and perhaps producing a DVD. So over that weekend up to three camcorders were in use, two in widescreen mode as you can see when viewing the DVD.

Hui-yen videoed the remaining 'Come Aboard'. Shooting almost two hours of footage. Together with footage from Polesworth which in itself amounted to one and a half hours and about five hundred photos from other B.C.F. team members I had been asked to produce a DVD to be given away with the magazine.

It was finally decided to make a DVD complete with case and sold for £6.00 each with half the cost going to support work done by B.C.F...

This gives the opportunity of members and friends alike to contribute to the cost of supporting B.C.F. and also to help finance next years Mission. Also hopefully the DVD will be valued more by those who purchase it.

The production of the DVD has been fraught with difficulties. With a very tight deadline of just a few weeks and not knowing where a host of the pictures were taken. This was just one of the problems faced. Other difficulties were the computer crashing due to one of the hard drives slowly going down, with it finally packing up altogether along with all the video and photos on it. PANIC. Forty DVDs to produce with all video and pictures lost on the computer and just one week to have it complete.

Fortunately a few of the DVDs had already been made and from these production was started again. OPPS. Printer now not working. After a new round of ink cartridges and priming we were back in business. Finally the last DVD completed just forty eight hours before the deadline.

On the DVD you will see for yourself the tremendous hard work and effort all the team and the Churches involved put in over the two week period spent in Tamworth. The effect on Churches contacted for the first time, the impact made to all those who in one way or another came in contact with the B.C.F...

The long term effect the B.C.F. and T.C.C. 'Come Aboard' will have on the all the thousands of school children, many who have never been on a Narrow boat is only to be dreamed of. The time men and women who perhaps have come into contact for the first time with something concrete in other peoples lives.

So this DVD tries to encapsulate in just over twenty minutes the wonderful time when together B.C.F. and T.C.C. reached out to those in the Tamworth area who are spiritually impoverished and now have seen a new light.

Hi eveyone just been browsing the site, what agood job you are doing. It's taken a while to make contact again as I had a new computor and the technology well and truly defeated me to begin with! Am just about coming to terms with it now. Hope everyone at the Fellowship are in good health. Life in the wilds of Wales is just as hectic but enjoying every minute.
Love and God Bless to all. Would love to hear from you.

I've just done a google search on Polesworth and this site is slowly climbing the ladder. Tell your friends, aquaintancies, etc. and get them on...mind you...if you're reading this you probably already are spreading the word... for those that are...good work...and for those that aren't...need I say more.

Big Hi to all at The Fellowship.

Hello! Bill and I live in Oklahoma and I have been tracing his ancestors. The search has brought me to Polesworth though I can't seem to find any graves for them. That's how I came to your lovely website! It sounds like you have a wonderful fellowship there. If we ever get to come over we will surely plan to visit your church, along with St. Edith's.
God Bless You All, your friends, Bill and Robin

Hi again...just a quick suggestion to make the site even better...it's only a small thing cause such a good job has already been done...in the 'Services and Activities' section it would be good to have a link to the National websites of the Girls' and Boys' Brigades, BYBA and D of E Awards. It'll give new readers more of an insight into what they are and do. (Try clicking on 'Web Links' - Dad)

Hi to all at PCF. All is well here in Australia. I'm sure my mom has been keeping you informed of what I've been up to...all good I hope! I will be returning at the beginning of October to Polesworth for a short while, two weeks, so I will catch up with you all then.

Just returned from the Bronze DofE trip. It was just alittle muddy in places.
The kids survived ok with only a few blisters. Again they cooked sausages and bacon - blackened pans once more.

WEB site looks good.

Bye for now

At last my pc is well again-had a very nasty virus!. The website is fab, you are my best student! I like the background but it doesn't fit my screen.I love the icons-especially Noah's Ark-may have to pinch that one! The different coloured text is effective too. Keep up the good work- I have put a link on the district website which I am rebuilding.

Hi Chris, David & everyone at Polesworth Christian Fellowship. Have just visited your website for the first time and thought we would just say hello to everyone. It,s a great way to keep in touch and find out what is going on. Life in Wales continues to be pretty wonderful, you even get used to the seagulls. I have made contact with the local Baptist Church through working with some of their members and now attend when I,m not working!!

Well...I'm impressed dad. You got your head round the wonderful world of websites. And it's looking and sounding pretty good. I was thinking that another part you could add to it was links to similar organisations as yourself making it a forum type contact throughout Britain and the world. World-wide communication - the beauty of the web!
It is also worth chatting to Duggie about 'spam' comments which may appear on your site from various unknown places which could deface the integrity of the site. This may well be offered by your website provider IK.com.

One other suggestion would be to put more pictures of people on the site...particularly on the opening page and their initial links. I'm sure that you are intending to put events etc on there but I mean more as a background. On this note, I do like the way that you haven't put any religious iconography as the background. It means that people stumbling across the site by accident will read a little before making their choice to read on or go to a different site.

It will also be worth checking with IK.com if they are associated with google...the world's biggest web search engine. Or you could just check by typing into google PCF and see what comes up.

Hope all these are helpful and not too premature.

Keep up the good work!
